Bali concentrates on growing marine tourism

On the Island of the Gods, the Bali Provincial Government is concentrating on making maritime tourism a newly popular tourist destination. A tour program around Bali by boat is part of the marine tourism that is planned.

Through the development of infrastructure in key locations, such as the expansion of the Sanur port, which will revitalize the golden triangle of Sanur, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan, maritime tourism is anticipated to grow. Leading locations like Lovina, Candidasa, Amed, and Pemuteran are accessible from the port of Sanur on Bali.

To encourage marine tourism, the provincial government of Bali intends to build a suitable pier nearby. The Bali Cultural Center (PKB) area, which is being constructed in Klungkung, will be furnished with a tourist port, allowing visitors to access the PKB region from the port of Sanur or other ports in Bali. Another option for travelers looking to avoid Bali's roadway traffic bottlenecks is maritime tourism.

In addition, Bali is constructing the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) together with the extension of the Benoa port. The goal is for the Benoa port to have a bigger pier by 2025, allowing for the simultaneous berthing of numerous cruise ships. Benoa Port is also intended to serve as a home port for cruise ships by 2025.

Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, the deputy governor of Bali, noted that the tourism potential has recently grown quickly. Bali, one of the top tourist destinations in the world and a symbol of cultural tourism, has advantages for the growth of marine tourism that is profitable on a worldwide scale. For this reason, Cok Ace stated, "the Bali province administration continues to work toward accelerating infrastructure to boost the competitiveness of maritime tourism in Bali, with the assistance of connected Ministries/Institutions and other stakeholders.

Before this, Pelindo predicted that 10,000 international tourists will go to Bali using sea routes, such as cruise ships, by the year 2022. This number will dramatically rise in 2023 along with the rise in the number of cruise ships calling at Benoa to dock.
